Gourmet Week - Klausnerhof

Gourmet Week

Calling all gourmets, connoisseurs and fans of fine dining!

Culinary highlights for gourmets

Every year, Klausnerhof takes you on a weeklong tour of the world of culinary delights, which promises a variety of gastronomic highlights, as well as all kinds of fun, adventures, rest and relaxation.

For example, at a cheese tasting session at the traditional ErlebnisSennerei in Mayrhofen, one of Austria's most modern show dairies.

Whether at close hand or during a multimedia experience - people of all ages can look over the shoulder of the master cheesemakers at work, because the “glazed production line” offers visitors a peek behind the scenes of a working dairy.

Dairy and pleasures of the palate

The dairy offers visitors not only the opportunity to follow the steps of milk production right through to the finished product, but also discover interesting information about the world of milk processing and cheese-making. The milk and cheese trail at Erlebnissennerei Zillertal Dairy leaves no question unanswered, because an audio guide reveals everything you need to know about milk processing and cheese production.

But that's not all that awaits at the Zillertal Dairy Experience. After inspecting the premises, machines and production techniques, guests can once again devote themselves entirely to pleasures of the palate: as in the adjacent alpine dairy kitchen, namely, chef Jürgen and his team are on hand to whisk up all kinds of taste sensations, which can then be enjoyed in the dining room or on the covered sun terrace.

„The Gourmet Week is an excellent opportunity to get better acquainted with top class Tyrolean and Austrian specialities and the finest products, whilst adding a few international specialties to the equation.“

Frieda Klausner

Wining and dining of the highest standards

The gourmet cuisine created by head chef, Franz Mariacher, offers a range of culinary highlights:  his creations combine hearty Austrian specialities with his own unique influences and creative finesse. Tradition and modernity - for extremely special pleasures of the palate. Traditional and modern.

Together with his professional team, Franz - a born and bred Tyrolean - conjures up outstanding dishes and demonstrates every evening during the five-course dinners why Klausnerhof is worthy of its four stars.

International and local dishes are served together with wine recommendations by sommelier Magdalena Klausner - the best combination for pure pleasures of the palate!

Wine and other fine beverages

We have some extremely fine wines, including the “Gletscherkönig - Glacier King” from our winemaking friends in Göttlesbrunn: a few years ago, Martin Klausner expressed the desire to create a special wine together with seven befriended winegrowers from the Carnutum region. With the combined enthusiasm of the Göttlesbrunner winegrowers camp, Marko, Netzl, Oppelmayer, Pimpel, 20s Schulz, Taferner and of course Martin Klausner, the Glacier King was born from a blend of the Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties!

And the King did not have to wait long for a partner. His White Glacier Queen from the Wachau region came along in 2013, made from just one grape variety. The second edition was made in 2015.
