Our Bichlalm - Klausnerhof

A trip to our alp

With or without children: Trips to the alps are a must during a hiking holiday in Tyrol. We have a special tip for you: our Bichlalm.

An adventure for the whole family

We do not only brag with the label ‘mountain hotel’ – we actually are one! The best proof: We have an own alp, the Bichlalm. It is located at 1695 metres and is, so to say, our cows’ summer residence. From June on, they graze on the sunlit alpine meadows and enjoy the summer. But do not worry: Of course there is enough space for our guests. The Bichlalm is located at the south-eastern hillside of the back of Tuxertal valley and is cultivated in summer as well as in wintertime. It only takes 45 minutes to get from the hotel to the alp – even with a pushchair. If you rather prefer a slow-paced ascent and do not want to hike uphill, you can take the glacier lift up to the mid-station (Sommerbergalm) and stroll continually, but not steeply, downhill to the Klausner family’s rustic alp. This is even easy for children to master.

”We only offer regional specialties at our alpine pasture Bichlalm. All products are produced in factories which the family knows. Over and over again, I am still fascinated by the unique view over the impressive Hintertux Glacier and the Tux Alps, not only in winter, but also in summer.”

Frieda Klausner

Pure winter action on the Bichlalm’s sled run

Having reached the Bichlalm, you will be served with delicious treats from Zillertal – and astonished at the same time bythe fantastic view of the Hintertux glaciers and the Tux Alps. This is exactly the way hiking holidays in Austria are supposed to be. After a day of smelling healthy Tyrolean mountain air, a glass of fresh buttermilk tastes particularly exquisite. While the kids explore the alps and quickly fall in love with the cute calves, their parents enjoy the silence on the sundeck of the Bichlalm. And in wintertime? That is the best time to leap onto the sleigh! A family-friendly winter hiking trail leads sledging lovers to the Bichlalm. And whoever has had enough to eat and see, hires a sleigh and experiences pure action on the three kilometres long sled run – whichis illuminated in the evening. That way you are able to perfectly combine dinner, a cabin evening with music and sledging fun. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you can enjoy a cabin evening with music, and on Friday a fondue evening can be arranged (with advance order). Bon appétit and have fun!
